VIDEO: Agazaryan Organized Information Leak Following Pashinyan-Aliev Meeting: Details Revealed

Mariam Z.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, has shared details regarding the reasons for the removal of Hovik Agazaryan from the ruling Civil Contract party. He stated that Agazaryan organized an information leak following the Pashinyan-Aliev meeting, disclosing sensitive information to the faction. "He comes, tells, shares state secrets, matters related to national interests, and then he takes all this public. Is this normal?" Simonian remarked.

According to Simonian, for over a year, the Civil Contract party had been searching for the source of the information leak. "When it concerns the party, whether good or bad situations, it doesn't matter. But when it concerns negotiations, Armenia's security, we need to find a way to fixate this, to see if it can stay?" he stated.

Simonian noted that one of the reasons for the escalation of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the stalling of negotiations was the violation of an agreement, which was openly discussed, leading to a leak. "Now go ahead, prove that this faction member did not intentionally provide that interview or disclose information, but rather just made a mistake," he added.

He insisted that there is an issue with Agazaryan's adequacy, mentioning that he believed Agazaryan should have resigned from his mandate at the time when the Prime Minister had requested it. It is worth noting that the head of the Civil Contract faction, Hayk Konjoryan, stated today in a conversation with journalists that Hovik Agazaryan had organized leaks on topics related to national security that were not supposed to be made public.
