Armenia Must Initiate Dialogue with the 'Western Azerbaijani' Community - Aliyev

The Western Azerbaijani community has repeatedly called for dialogue with the Armenian government, but the other side has rejected these overtures. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Aliyev emphasized that Armenia should commence negotiations with the community and take practical steps to restore the fundamental rights of 'Western Azerbaijanis'.

“In addition, Armenia should allow a UNESCO fact-finding mission to visit to monitor the situation regarding the destruction and distortion of the cultural heritage belonging to our people, and it should cooperate in this area,” Aliyev highlighted.
