French Parliament Votes No Confidence in Barnier's Government

The French Parliament has motioned a vote of no confidence against the government led by Michel Barnier, reports Reuters. The cabinet is now expected to submit its resignation.

Prime Minister Barnier is anticipated to present his and his government's resignation to President Emmanuel Macron shortly. This marks the first instance of such a political move since 1962 when Georges Pompidou's government resigned following a no-confidence vote.
