Ukraine's full membership in NATO would be unacceptable for Russia, as it represents a threatening event. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia.

"This absolutely contradicts our thesis on the indivisibility of security, and the security of one country cannot be ensured at the expense of another country's security. This is an unchanging rule of international relations that we adhere to. The decision is simply unacceptable for us, as it is a threatening event for us," Peskov said.
