Police Officer Stole 21 Thousand Liters of Gasoline: Details

As a result of joint operational-investigative measures carried out by the Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Security Service officers, along with an internal inquiry, it has been revealed that a responsible officer from one of the subdivisions of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stole between 18,000 to 21,000 liters of gasoline allocated for the needs of said subdivision from the beginning of 2020 until November 2024.

It is noted that the responsible officer sold part of the gasoline in the form of receipts and used another portion to fuel personal vehicles.

The documents obtained during the internal inquiry have been sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia. In the statement, it is emphasized, “The Ministry of Internal Affairs is committed to uncovering corrupt practices, and any deviation from legal conduct will receive a severe response.”
