Sergey Lavrov and Hakan Fidan Have a Phone Conversation
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the situation in Syria over the phone and expressed concerns regarding the military escalation in Aleppo and Idlib, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“On November 30, the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, had a phone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, during which the situation in Syria was discussed. Both sides expressed serious concern over the dangerous developments in the Syrian Arab Republic related to military tensions in Aleppo and Idlib provinces,” the report states.
The parties affirmed the necessity of coordinating joint actions aimed at stabilizing the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic, primarily through utilizing the potential of the Astana format, clarified the Russian diplomatic department.
