Iran's Foreign Ministry Comments on Events in Syria

The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, commented on the events in Syria over the past two days, warning about the resurgence of Takfiri terrorist activities in the region and calling for decisive and coordinated actions to prevent the spread of terrorism in the area. This was reported by IRNA.

"According to the agreements between the three guarantor countries of the Astana process (Iran, Turkey, and Russia), the outskirts of Aleppo and Idlib are considered de-escalation zones, and attacks by terrorist groups in these areas are viewed as a gross violation of these agreements," Baghaei stated.

Baghaei strongly condemned all forms and manifestations of terrorism and categorized the recent movements of terrorist groups in Syria as part of a malign plan by the Western Asia region's terrorist regime and the United States aimed at destabilizing the area.

He warned that any delay in combating terrorist movements in Syria would jeopardize all achievements made in the fight against terrorism in recent years and would force the region into a new era, leading to insecurity and instability.
