Of Course, It Was Unpleasant: Kocharian on the 10 Victims of March 1
There cannot be a leader who does not feel great discomfort. This was stated by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, in a conversation with reporters when asked if he feels political responsibility for the 10 victims that occurred during his tenure.
“Of course, it was unpleasant, it was not good, especially since there was only one month left in my tenure. But this question should be directed to those who incited those clashes. I believe you are all aware of what was happening at that time. I visited the hospital then and saw the extent of the injuries suffered by our servicemen, nearly all of whom had shrapnel wounds or burns—about 200 people. If there are people who do not want to see this, that is their problem,” Kocharian said.
