VIDEO: National Anthem Arrangement Changed

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports presented a draft to the Government at the suggestion of a group of deputies, proposing to regulate certain aspects related to the anthem of the Republic of Armenia and its performance.

Specifically, the draft suggests establishing one official version of the Republic of Armenia's anthem for official and representative events both domestically and on international platforms, as well as other cases defined by law.

The proposed amendments will also make it mandatory for colleges and kindergartens to adhere to the law, in addition to schools and universities. Compliance with the law will also be mandatory during award ceremonies at sports events.

The draft grants the Government the authority to define a short editorial version of the national anthem's text and music in accordance with the law's annex.

“During my term as Prime Minister, I pay close attention to the anthem's performance at official events, and for a long time, I have not encountered the same version of the Armenian anthem being performed,” noted Nikol Pashinyan.

Pashinyan mentioned that he has given a considerable amount of time to the instruction that the anthem must be performed live at all events attended by him and in a way that meets certain quality standards.
