The Sports Complex Will Become a Training Center for Collective Teams
The government approved a modification to the law on the "State Property Privatization Program for 2017-2020" during its meeting today. The decision rationale states that after handing over the sports complex located at 5 Tsitsernakaberd Highway in Yerevan to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, it is planned to renovate the facility and create a training center for collective teams.
The complex includes administrative space, a canteen, and a dormitory designed for around 60 individuals, along with two gymnasiums, each 1600 square meters. One of the gyms meets the international standards for artistic gymnastics and has been the site of training processes for the artistic gymnastics and acrobatics youth sports school for many years. The other gym has served for wrestling, judo, and boxing training sessions.
Given the availability of the dormitory and two gyms, the sports complex will serve as a venue for training camps, Armenian championships, and other competitions. A medical rehabilitation center will also operate within the facility.
With the adoption of this project, there will be an increase in expenses in the state budget amounting to 2.3 billion drams.
