Attention: Major Power Outage in Yerevan

About an hour ago, citizens reported to Auroranews that there was a major power outage in several areas of Yerevan. It was also reported that there is no electricity in approximately half of Yerevan.

In a conversation with Auroranews, representatives from the High Voltage Electric Networks stated that there were no technical issues on their end, neither in the substations nor in the overhead lines. If problems exist, they are on the side of the Electric Networks of Armenia (HETs).

Auroranews also managed to speak with a representative of HETs, who said that the issue lies within HETs’ high voltage systems, and efforts are currently underway to understand the causes.

Earlier, Auroranews was informed by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure that everything is in order at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, with no issues reported.

Shortly, HETs informed Auroranews that due to an accident in the Republic of Armenia's energy system, there was a power supply interruption starting at 11:17 AM today, affecting areas like Kanakeravan, Zovuni, Dzhrvezh, Bagrevand neighborhoods, Balakhovit village, as well as the Avan, Kanaker, Davtashen, and Ajapnyak administrative districts and parts of the Arabkir district.

Thanks to the operational work of the Electric Networks of Armenia company, power supply was restored to all neighborhoods by 11:40 AM.
