Putin Must Respond to This: Peskov

The new directive on the modernization of Russia's nuclear doctrine from President Vladimir Putin can be seen as a signal to the West. This was announced by the Kremlin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov in an interview with Pavel Zarubin.

“Certainly, there is no coincidence here. There is a certain regularity,” said Peskov.

“Although President Putin has instructed to prepare amendments to ensure our doctrine aligns with the current conditions of confrontation provoked by Western countries, indeed, Putin must respond to the unprecedented escalation primarily instigated by the outgoing administration in Washington,” added the Kremlin representative.

Dmitry Peskov emphasized that this response must be a continuous process. “As they are taking more reckless steps each time and moving forward by provoking tensions around the Ukrainian conflict,” said the Kremlin spokesperson.
