We are committing white genocide due to long-standing policies, says Babayan

There are no reforms, and they do not even understand what to do. This is what Samvel Babayan, the president of the United Homeland party and former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, said in an interview with Hetq.am while responding to the changes occurring in the military.

Referring to the acquisition of weapons, Babayan stated that we have a personnel resource problem, noting that for a French artillery piece, for example, six people are required to operate it.

“Nikol Pashinyan is the primary responsible party. He has appointed the wrong personnel in the military, and he has pursued that policy. No one is saying he is not to blame,” he said.

“Due to long-standing policies, we are committing white genocide. Young people are leaving the country because an 18-year-old is expected to be sent to the front line after just one month of training, and I consider that to be wrong. I have long proposed that military service should be reduced to one year, with a law preventing anyone from being sent to the front line during that time,” Babayan noted.

Babayan also addressed the recent political developments in Armenia, specifically the dismissals of officials in recent days, stating, “The ruling political force is preparing for elections, and these removals mark the beginning; more people will be dismissed.”
