US Elevates Readiness of Strategic Nuclear Submarines

The US Department of Defense has announced an update to its nuclear deterrence strategy. As part of this initiative, the readiness of Ohio-class strategic nuclear submarines equipped with Trident II intercontinental ballistic missiles has been increased, and the development of the free-fall B61-13 bomb has been expedited.
