VIDEO. Underground Alcohol Production Facilities Discovered, Ministry of Internal Affairs
In recent days, the Criminal Police of the Shirak Regional Department received operational information regarding illegal production, bottling, and excising of counterfeit alcoholic beverages in various addresses within their jurisdiction, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“To verify the initial information, on November 15, criminal police visited the rented premises of two men aged 31 and 32 in Gyumri. They discovered 439 filled bottles of various capacities, 1400 empty vodka bottles, 4 boxes of bottle caps, and two plastic containers of 200 liters and 5 liters filled with liquid with a smell of alcohol. The young men admitted to preparing and selling beverages without the necessary permits.
On the same day, following another similar tip-off, criminal detectives headed to Ostrovsky Street in Gyumri. Here, they found bottles labeled with various vodka and brandy brands, as well as a large quantity of empty vodka and brandy bottles. The homeowner in this case also confessed.
The Shirak criminal police's subsequent operation was on November 18. In the morning, they went to a house on Gorganyan Street in Gyumri and discovered various filled fake vodka bottles, caps, and empty bottles, as well as different quantities of brandy, vodka, and vodka spirit. Once again, the homeowner stated that they had been involved in the production, bottling, excising, and selling of counterfeit alcoholic beverages without the necessary permits.
All the documents associated with these cases have been sent to the Shirak Regional Investigative Department, and circumstances are being clarified,” the statement reads.
