QP Lawmaker's Drug Test Positive, Reports 'Zhoghovurd'
Research has confirmed that Karen Sarukhanyan, a lawmaker from the 'Civil Contract' faction and a candidate for mayor of Gyumri, has used drugs. This was reported by the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', citing its sources.
The media outlet states that during the meeting of the 'Civil Contract' party’s board on November 12, where the political situation in Gyumri was discussed, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan unexpectedly sent Karen Sarukhanyan, who was present at the meeting, to take a drug test under the supervision of a trusted doctor and his security officer.
According to the newspaper, 'Sarukhanyan's test results returned positive, indicating the presence of drugs in his bloodstream.'
In an interview with the newspaper, Karen Sarukhanyan did not confirm or deny the reports regarding the positive drug test results.
It is noteworthy that earlier it was revealed that Varuj Khojumyan, Sarukhanyan's nephew, and his friend, Gagik Gevorgyan, a member of the Gyumri council from the 'Civil Contract' faction, were arrested on suspicion of drug possession and use.
