Turkey Prevents Israeli President from Reaching Baku
Turkey has barred the aircraft of Israeli President Isaac Herzog from using its airspace. As a result, he was unable to attend the UN climate change COP29 conference taking place in Baku. This was reported by Azerbaijani Caliber, citing a source from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to The Jerusalem Post, Herzog was scheduled to participate in the climate conference on November 20, but he canceled his trip one day prior. The Times of Israel reports that this decision was made due to security concerns, considering the proximity of Azerbaijan and Iran. Israel also has a separate booth for this conference.
