Military Personnel Have the Right to Use All Types of Public Transport for Free, Says Kostanyan

According to Article 66, Clause 1 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen, military personnel have the right to use all types of urban passenger transport within the territory of the Republic of Armenia, regardless of ownership (except for taxis), for free. This information was reported by Haik Kostanyan, spokesperson for the Mayor of Yerevan.

I also inform you that on November 19, during the next session of the City Council, a draft will be proposed that aims to establish free transportation fares for the family members (spouses, minor children, parents) of those who died during combat operations in the Republic of Armenia or Artsakh, or were declared missing or dead while performing their official duties, when serviced by the municipal operator providing regular intra-community bus transport with 100% community participation.

It should be reminded that recently there were reports circulating on the internet that military personnel would no longer receive free transportation.
