Infrastructure Soon to be Delivered to the Border with Armenia: Bayramov

The opening of transport communications between Azerbaijan and Armenia is not a new topic. Azerbaijan is constructing infrastructure for transport links that will soon reach the border with Armenia. This was stated by Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

He noted that there is a specific point regarding this in the 2020 trilateral statement. “It specifies the commitments that Armenia undertakes. This topic has been discussed for a long time. After 3.5 years of discussions, we consider the expression 'an agreement has been reached' to be overdue. This agreement should have been reached long ago. If there is still no official document on this issue, and if Armenia has not started work in this direction, then there are still open questions. Meanwhile, work is being carried out rapidly in Azerbaijan to create transport infrastructure that will soon reach the border with Armenia,” he said.

Earlier, he added that currently the Azerbaijani side is focused on COP29, and a meeting with the Armenian side to discuss the draft peace agreement is impossible before December. According to Bayramov, such a meeting could take place in December or January, but there is still no specific agreement on this matter.
