Entry to Kazakhstan for Armenian Citizens to be Eased
The Armenian Parliament has ratified an agreement that allows Armenian citizens to enter Kazakhstan using an identification card. The draft on ratifying the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan concerning the procedures for citizen visits and stays was adopted unanimously, receiving 95 votes in favor.
This agreement has made an amendment to the list of valid travel documents. For citizens of the Republic of Armenia, the identification card has been added, while for citizens of Kazakhstan, the identity verification certificate has been included.
The agreement will enter into force 30 days after the date of receipt of the last written notification through diplomatic channels regarding the completion of the necessary domestic procedures by the parties. According to the draft, as of July 3, 2024, no notification has been received from the Kazakh side regarding the completion of domestic procedures for the agreement to come into effect.
