God Forbid That Happens: Lukashenko

The leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, believes that although a woman cannot be president in Belarus, it is a very complicated job. "God forbid a woman is elected in Belarus; the President of the United States does not have the same powers, but here one must delve into everything, and then, this is the most difficult job and should not be overburdened on a woman, this is not a ceremonial position," Lukashenko told reporters, as quoted by the Beltop agency.

According to him, perhaps in time Belarus will "come to this style". "However, right now it is different, I bow before women, I do not diminish their role at all," the state leader said.

The next presidential elections in Belarus will take place on January 26, 2025.
