They Paid for This with Black Ingratitude: Zakharova

The current leadership of Germany has paid Russia back with "black ingratitude" by supplying weapons to Ukraine, despite its assistance in the unification of the country's east and west. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a broadcast on Sputnik.

"Germans must know that our country has been supportive and contributed to the unification of their people. For this, they have paid with black ingratitude, now supplying weapons that kill those who helped them unite, contributing to the rise of Nazism, neo-Nazism, and fascism in Ukraine," said the diplomat.

This year, Germany celebrated the 34th anniversary of the country's unification, marked by the Day of German Unity, a national holiday and a non-working day. On October 3, 1990, five states of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) - Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia - joined the Federal Republic of Germany. The main celebrations this year, with the participation of the country's leadership, are taking place in Schwerin, the administrative center of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
