Snoop Dogg's Concert Will Not Take Place This Year: Details
Snoop Dogg's postponed concert in Armenia will not take place this year, and it is still unclear when it will be held. Despite previous assurances from the 'Doping Space' organization that the postponed concert would occur this year, it will not happen.
Tert.am had written to the organization on October 7 to understand whether the earlier claims regarding the concert's timing still held and if it would ultimately take place or not. A representative from ‘Doping Space,’ which is responsible for organizing and hosting the concert, stated that they cannot disclose any information at this time.
They noted, 'In response to your inquiry, we inform you that due to the artist and his team's request, we cannot publicize details regarding negotiations and agreements reached, including the expected concert date, at the present time. At this moment, we can only inform you that during a direct meeting with the artist, he emphasized the importance of the planned concert in Yerevan and expressed his willingness to include it in his upcoming concert schedule.'
‘We will be happy to provide additional information once the confidentiality restrictions on discussions with the artist and the outcomes are lifted,’ the response stated.
On October 23, Minister of Education, Culture and Science Zhanna Andreasyan announced that it is possible the concert could take place in November, and they are awaiting a final answer from the organization. Both ‘Doping Space’ and the Ministry of Education have repeatedly assured the media that the concert will definitely occur in 2024, initially stating it would be in May or June, and then in November.
It is worth recalling that after the announcement regarding the American rapper Snoop Dogg's concert, which was scheduled for September 23, 2023, there was intense discussion concerning the state funds that would be spent on the concert. The concert did not take place due to the war in the Republic of Artsakh; however, he was paid the full fee. Snoop Dogg has not returned the money. The government allocated 2 billion 319 million drams for the concert.
