A New Scam Method Developed Through WhatsApp

A new scheme of fraud has been developed, specifically on WhatsApp, where scammers pose as security personnel of the messenger. This was reported by the Mash Telegram channel.

According to the channel, the fraudsters call individuals under the pretense of representing the security service, threatening to block the application and urgently asking for the 'rescue code' to supposedly verify the user's identity. In reality, this is the recovery code for accessing the account.

By obtaining this code, scammers steal users' personal information and accounts. They gain access to profiles, change passwords, and request money urgently from contacts of the victim for various reasons, mostly tragic claims.
