Argishti Kyaramyan to Be Summoned for Questioning
The Anti-Corruption Committee is preparing a notification for the President of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Argishti Kyaramyan, who will soon be summoned for questioning to clarify who had approached him regarding a specific matter. This information is reported by ArmLur.am.
During parliamentary hearings on October 15, a dispute erupted between the head of the Investigative Committee and ruling party MP Hovik Aghazaryan. Aghazaryan had criticized Kyaramyan, urging him to engage respectfully with MPs.
“During the dispute, the head of the Investigative Committee insisted that he had been approached at least twice regarding a criminal case involving Aghazaryan's son, specifically concerning the ‘return of vehicles,’” Kyaramyan stated. “If we are talking about fighting corruption and patronage, please answer this question,” he added.
Based on this statement, a criminal case has been initiated at the Anti-Corruption Committee under Article 486, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (two episodes) concerning interference in the administration of justice or the investigation of a case,” the site reports.
