Sales of books on tyranny, far-right politics, and dystopia have surged in the United States following the election victory of Republican Donald Trump. This was reported by The Guardian.
It is noted that Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" has risen more than 400 spots and secured the third position in the U.S. sales rankings on the Amazon platform. Timothy Snyder's "On Tyranny" has climbed more than 100 positions in sales rankings. Americans have also begun to buy George Orwell's "1984" in larger numbers.
The voting for the U.S. presidential election concluded on the morning of November 6, according to Yerevan time. Official results have yet to be finalized; however, according to American media, Trump has already gathered approximately 300 electoral votes. He has declared himself the 47th President of the United States.
Incumbent Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has conceded her defeat, referring to Trump as the duly elected Republican President.
