Israel Accuses Turkey
The permanent representative of Israel to the UN has strongly reacted to a letter presented by Turkey to the UN, which has been signed by 52 countries, calling for an arms embargo against Israel.
According to Ermenihaber, Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, accused Turkey of advocating for an arms embargo against Israel with the support of 52 countries, describing this move as malicious.
In the letter submitted to the UN on November 1 at Turkey's initiative, the signatory countries include Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Algeria, China, as well as the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Danon characterized the letter as a farcical act carried out by a coalition united against Israel and the axis of evil, emphasizing that Israel will continue to defend its interests against any political and military assaults.
The letter, signed by 52 countries and 2 international organizations, calls for "an end to the sale of weapons and ammunition to Israel to prevent violations of international law, including humanitarian law and human rights legislation in the occupied Palestinian territories, primarily in Gaza."
