It’s About a Non-Friendly Country: Peskov
The presidential elections are an internal matter for the United States, but Russia is closely monitoring the flow of information coming from abroad on this subject and analyzing the statements made. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, stated this during a briefing, according to gazeta.ru.
“As for the congratulations, I do not know about Putin's plans regarding congratulating Trump in connection with the elections. We are talking about a non-friendly country that is directly and indirectly involved in the war against our state,” said the Kremlin representative.
It is worth noting that voting for the presidential elections has concluded in the United States. The candidates for this position are former White House leader Donald Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris. A total of 270 electoral votes is required to win. According to Fox News, Trump has garnered at least 277 votes.
Additionally, global leaders have congratulated Trump on his victory. The first to congratulate him was Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, followed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, French President Emmanuel Macron, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
