EU Delegation in Yerevan to Develop Visa Liberalization Negotiation Program

The European Union delegation has arrived in Yerevan to develop the negotiation program for visa liberalization. This was announced on November 5 during a parliamentary discussion on the 2025 budget by Deputy Foreign Minister Paruir Hovhannisyan.

“We have already started negotiations on the liberalization of visas. The EU delegation is in Yerevan on November 5-6 to formulate the relevant negotiation program,” noted Hovhannisyan.

According to him, 2024 was an unprecedented year in pushing forward the agenda of the EU-Armenia partnership. “We can highlight numerous achievements, for instance, the ratification of the agreements between Armenia and Europol, and Armenia and Eurojust. Two important decisions were made in July to start dialogue on visa liberalization and to provide support to Armenia through the European Peace Facility,” he said.

The Deputy Foreign Minister also mentioned that the draft of a new agenda for the Armenia-EU partnership is nearing completion. “All these steps will, of course, have an impact on the work planned for 2025,” he added.
