Armen Melikbekyan to Be Dismissed from Office: 'Zhoghovurd'

'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: 'The catastrophic state of Armenian football has been discussed multiple times. Unfortunately, due to the incompetent policies of the current leadership of the Armenian Football Federation (AFF), Armenian football is possibly at its historically lowest point. Almost continuously, all age group teams are suffering from defeats, and the national team can hardly secure a draw even against the Faroe Islands.

The policies implemented by Melikbekyan and his deputy, Armen Nikoghosyan, have led to calls for the resignation of the federation president by key players in the sector, including the clubs 'Pyunik', 'Urartu', 'Shirak', and the national team's fans from 'FAF' and 'Red Eagles', as well as supporters from 'Ararat Armenia', 'Shirak', and 'Urartu'.

The actual state of affairs in the federation can be inferred from the fact that on Friday, some smaller clubs posted a text ostensibly supporting Melikbekyan, yet the text changed several times due to the presence of names like 'Noah' and 'Ararat Armenia', which were later removed. This suggests that not a single significant club wants to defend these individuals.

Sources report that the ruling elite seems inclined to dismiss Melikbekyan, who continuously creates problems without producing any results. According to certain information, Melikbekyan has submitted several applications that have been blocked by Armen Nikoghosyan, who is perceived as the real leader of the federation.

By the way, an interview with Armen Nikoghosyan was supposed to air on one of the sports channels on Sunday, as previously announced, but for some reason, it was postponed and instead aired on Monday evening.
