Powerful Attack on Israel: What to Expect
Iran is preparing a "comprehensive response" to the Israeli strike on October 26, during which it will utilize more powerful warheads and other weapons. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing Iranian and Arab officials.
According to the interlocutors, during the attack, Tehran will not only deploy the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps but also regular army soldiers; however, there is no mention of troop deployment in the region. "Our soldiers have lost people, so they must respond," an Iranian official told the newspaper (according to authorities, 4 Iranian military personnel were killed during the October strike by the Israeli Air Force).
One of the officials stated that Iran plans to strike Israel, including from Iraqi territory, and will attack Israeli military facilities "much more aggressively than last time." The Israeli Air Force has launched airstrikes on military sites in three Iranian provinces—Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam—in response to a massive missile attack that Tehran carried out on October 1.
Regarding the alleged timelines, the Iranian official stated that Tehran's response would follow after the U.S. elections on November 5, but before the inauguration of the new president in January. The interlocutor noted that Tehran does not wish its actions to impact the election process in the United States. According to American intelligence, Iran would prefer Democratic candidate Kamala Harris to win rather than Republican Donald Trump.
