The death toll from floods in Spain has risen to 207 and continues to grow. This was announced by the country's Minister of Interior Fernando Grande-Marlaska in an interview with Cadena Ser radio station.

“According to the latest data I have, the death toll is 207,” he stated, citing experts, adding that this number is likely to increase.

Earlier reports indicated that there were 202 fatalities in the Valencia autonomous community. Media reports suggest that at least 250 people are considered missing.

The Spanish government has declared three days of mourning.

This week, heavy rains and thunderstorms have impacted the autonomous communities of Valencia, Castile-La Mancha, and Andalucía. The situation has been particularly severe in Valencia, where a red alert, the highest level of danger, has been issued.

The disaster has also caused significant damage to the region's road infrastructure, leading to the closure of more than 60 roads. As of October 30, 155,000 homes were without electricity, but that number has since reduced to 40,000 two days later.
