On Friday, November 1, 2024, His Holiness Aram I received a call from Dr. Luis Moreno Ocampo, the founder and first prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. The focus of the conversation revolved around the issues related to Artsakh in the context of the upcoming COP29 international conference taking place in Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22. During this dialogue, Dr. Ocampo provided His Holiness with an overview of his ongoing efforts and emphasized the important role of the Catholicos in this context, taking into account his international connections.

Aram I expressed his deep appreciation for Ocampo’s support for the protection of the rights of the Armenian people in Artsakh, noting that he has been quietly involved in efforts to protect the rights of the Armenian community and to secure the release of prisoners in recent weeks.
