Israel Strikes IRGC Rocket Production Space Center: NYT

On October 26, Israel struck the Shahroud space center located in Iran's Semnan province. This was reported by The New York Times, referencing new satellite imagery from the American operator Planet Labs.

According to the newspaper, rocket engines are manufactured in the central building of the Shahroud complex. These are used for the mass production of medium-range ballistic missiles that Iran could use to target Israel.

In recent years, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has developed its own missile production program, separate from that of Iran's armed forces, reports NYT.

The newspaper also notes that in addition to the center, Israel destroyed Iranian air defense systems, which were intended to repel attacks on oil refining and petrochemical plants, as well as a major gas field and port located in southern Iran.
