Ruling Party Members Plan to Raise the Question of Andranik Kocharyan's Dismissal
A number of members from the ruling ‘Civil Contract’ faction in the National Assembly were preparing to raise the issue of removing Andranik Kocharyan from his position as head of the Defense Committee during a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan yesterday.
According to sources from ‘Azatutyun’, many within the faction, including key members, are in favor of Kocharyan’s dismissal, although the matter still needs to be discussed with Pashinyan. Kocharyan is also aware of his colleagues' intentions.
At this time, clear justifications for his removal have not yet been formulated, and it remains uncertain whether the members of ‘Civil Contract’ will succeed in ousting their colleague. ‘Azatutyun’ reported that the decision is essentially dependent on the Prime Minister.
The management meeting scheduled for yesterday at 19:00 did not take place due to discussions on the 2025 budget in the National Assembly. It is still unclear when the meeting will occur.
