I Have Come Here Today to Ask for Money: Koloyan at the National Assembly

The Director of Public Radio, Armen Koloyan, confirmed that if the Government and the National Assembly do not provide funding, there will be cuts to the staff at the radio station.

"I have come here today to ask for money because I have 320 employees, of which 93 are musicians, and the rest are journalists and technical staff who earn very low salaries. To restore that balance, I have said that nothing will change by the end of the year. If the executive and legislative branches kindly decide to increase our budget, nothing will happen. If not, we will be forced to make cuts," Koloyan told journalists at the National Assembly.

According to him, they have even asked some individuals to vacate their rooms to rent them out, as they are in need of funds.

"We are doing everything we can to generate resources, we are trying to find sponsors to encourage journalists and start new programs," he said. According to Koloyan, there is no way that Public Radio can become a propaganda tool for the government.
