Singer Adele Partially Loses Hearing

British pop singer Adele (real name: Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) has revealed that she has partially lost her hearing in her left ear due to a bacterial infection. This was reported by the Sun newspaper.

"I have an ear infection that is really horrifying. I never had it before. It’s the most excruciating pain I’ve ever experienced, worse than childbirth. It’s a rare, watery bacteria, and it’s very difficult to treat. I was on improper antibiotics for several days until they finally prescribed the right ones. There were moments when I just wanted to cut my ear off. The pain no longer torments me, which is wonderful, but my left ear is partially deaf," the singer is quoted as saying by the publication.

It is noted that Adele contracted the infection while in Munich during a ten-day trip in August. According to the Sun, Adele confirmed that she is not currently planning to release new music. Earlier in September, the Independent reported that Adele intended to take a break from her music career.
