Man Who Killed His Mother Suffers from Mental Illness: Details
A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his 72-year-old mother in Nerkhin Shengavit. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
It is noted that on October 27, at 11:00 PM, a call was received from a resident of one of the houses on 6th Street in Yerevan's Nerkhin Shengavit, alleging that his 72-year-old mother had been killed by her son. In connection with the incident, the Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case under Article 155, Part 2, Clause 9 of the Armenian Criminal Code (murder).
During the examination of the crime scene, the body of the 72-year-old woman was found in the living room of the house, with severe facial injuries, along with the presence of a metallic rod with blood-like traces.
The victim's 39-year-old son, who has reportedly suffered from mental illness since 2005, has been apprehended on suspicion of committing the murder.
Samples have been collected, and comprehensive forensic examinations have been appointed, including forensic medical, genetic, and trace examinations. Several individuals have been interrogated.
Examination revealed swelling and edema on the right wrist of the suspected perpetrator, a cut-puncture wound on the right thumb, and scratches around the right eye.
The investigation is ongoing.
