Corrupt Practices Penetrate the Army, Says Chief of Staff
The Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia and Chief of the General Staff, Edward Asryan, has addressed the incidents occurring within the army. He stated, 'We are all carrying out preventive work and measures, starting from myself. We must also understand that corrupt practices from society are penetrating the army.'
According to the Chief of Staff, actions are necessary to uproot these corrupt practices. 'Soldiers from various strata of society are entering the army, and their upbringing is different. Our focus is to carry out diverse work to eradicate these practices.'
He noted that such practices have always penetrated. 'I do not definitely say that there are no shortcomings or deficiencies in the army, starting from the lower ranks. But we will perform the tasks set before us to minimize them.'
Asryan mentioned that this process is challenging and is being implemented step by step.
