PHOTOS: Rare Atmospheric Phenomena - 'Fire' Rainbows

Levon Azizyan, the director of the Hydro-Meteo and Monitoring Center, has shared photographs on his Facebook page, stating, 'Fire rainbows,' which are also known as horizontal rainbows, are rare atmospheric phenomena that occur when the Sun is more than 58 degrees above the horizon, fluffy clouds are present in the sky, and ice crystals in the clouds are arranged horizontally.

Contrary to their name, 'fire rainbows' have no connection to fire; the name derives from their bright colors and fiery appearance.
