Daughter of Deceased Woman in Stepanakert Shares Details

On October 20, in the occupied Stepanakert, relatives of 70-year-old Vera Aghasyan are preparing to appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross to arrange for the burial of her body in Armenia. This was reported today, October 25, in an interview with NEWS.am by Vera Aghasyan's 32-year-old daughter, who noted that Vera Aghasyan had four children, but they were unable to persuade her to come to Armenia.

“My mother lived in the village. During the war, I moved to Armenia with my three minor children, not knowing that my mother had stayed there. I constantly urged her to come to Armenia, but she did not want to. My mother had mental health issues. I have contacted the International Committee of the Red Cross several times, but they said they could not forcibly bring my mother if she did not want to. I was unable to talk to my mother for the last six months. I didn’t even know she was ill. A few days ago, I learned about her death. I am preparing to appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross so that we can bring my mother’s body to Armenia and bury her here,” Vera Aghasyan's daughter shared.
