Zakharova Comments on Mher Grigoryan's Statement
The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has responded to the statement made by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan regarding the halt of the trilateral commission's meetings on regional communication unblocking, due to a lack of consensus on certain issues.
When asked whether Moscow has lost hope for opening communications in the region, Zakharova stated: "It's not about hope or the absence of it, but about finding mutually acceptable solutions that are beneficial to Baku and Yerevan. The trilateral working group, co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, has been actively working in this direction. We are ready to continue to provide comprehensive support to our partners."
According to Zakharova, the unblocking of transport communications will benefit the region as a whole. She pointed out a recent statement by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk, indicating that the unblocking of economic and transport corridors in the South Caucasus is only possible with Russia's participation: "We are working in this direction," Zakharova concluded.
