We Have the First Document in History Signed Between Armenia and Azerbaijan: Mirzoyan

During a Q&A session with the government in the National Assembly, ruling party member Arthur Hovhannisyan asked Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan whether the regional "3+3" platform could become a framework for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In response, Mirzoyan stated, "In general, there is no such proposal on the table, and even if there were, we would not find it appropriate to respond positively, because we have a bilateral negotiation format with Azerbaijan, and moreover, in all directions. However, different ministers from various countries use this platform to have bilateral negotiations. This time we had our regular round with the Azerbaijani minister, focusing on the text of the peace treaty to expedite its signing."

Addressing the rhetoric and responses from Azerbaijan regarding the process, Mirzoyan said, "This is not the first time we have noticed non-constructive rhetoric from official Baku. In any case, this does not divert us from our strategy. Therefore, we are constructively working to sign the peace treaty as soon as possible. Today we can confidently say that following your vote, we already have the first legal document in history signed between the two countries, which establishes the recognition of each other's territorial integrity and sets the stage for borders and demarcation."
