Those who use the dollar as a weapon are making a big mistake. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan.

According to Putin, the dollar remains a crucial tool in global finance. “If the dollar is used as a means to achieve political goals, trust in that currency will be undermined, and its potential will decrease,” he stated.

“We do not reject it; we are not fighting against the dollar. But if we are not allowed to work with it, what should we do? We are forced to look for alternatives,” Putin added.

It is worth mentioning that Putin had previously stated on June 6 during a meeting with heads of global news agencies that the US administration's prohibition on dollar transactions is a mistake that leads to a weakening of the American currency's role. The country's leader emphasized that “using the dollar as an instrument of struggle undermines trust in the currency, which he described as absurd.” Putin also added that moving to settlements in national currencies strengthens them and helps develop relations between countries.
