Is There 'Chaos' in the Army? Will Former Officers Be Recalled? - 'Hraparak'

The number of non-combat losses in the army is rising day by day, with two deaths reported just last week. Although authorities do not accept their share of the blame, our sources indicate that internal discussions have acknowledged a state of 'chaos' in the army, with a serious shortage of officer personnel. Immediate action must be taken; otherwise, it will be impossible to confront the worsening statistics.

This is reported by 'Hraparak'. According to our sources, a discussion took place the other day in the government led by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. The deputy chairman of the National Assembly’s Defense Committee, Armen Khachatryan, suggested allocating funds to develop changes in the law that would allow retired officers to return to service in military units, receiving both their military pensions and salary. This initiative aims to bring experienced officers back to the army instead of relying solely on 18-20-year-olds, which has contributed to the increasing death statistics. Preliminary agreement has been reached, and a draft for changes in the law may be developed.
