Pashinyan Receives Letter from Joe Biden

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan welcomed Michael Carpenter, Special Assistant to the President of the United States and Director for Europe on the National Security Council, along with Senior Advisor for Caucasian Negotiations Luis Bono. This was reported by the Government of Armenia.

Michael Carpenter first delivered a letter from US President Joe Biden to Prime Minister Pashinyan. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the negotiations for a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Prime Minister Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia's readiness to sign the peace treaty based on the already agreed provisions and to continue further discussions. Pashinyan expressed confidence that the signing of the treaty would foster mutual trust and send a positive signal to the discussions and agreements on other issues.

Michael Carpenter emphasized that the US welcomes Armenia's ambitions and actions toward establishing peace and stability, highlighting the importance of the delimitation process and the signing of regulations, and reaffirming the United States' readiness to further contribute to ensuring peace and stability in the region.

Discussions were also held regarding opportunities for unblocking regional communication routes. Carpenter underscored US support for Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During the meeting, the bilateral agenda of Armenia-US cooperation, as well as other topics of mutual interest, were addressed.
