Israel Drops Thousands of Leaflets Over Gaza: What Awaits the Residents

Israeli aircraft have dropped leaflets over the southern part of Gaza featuring a photo of deceased Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, along with a message stating that "Hamas no longer controls the beast," echoing phrases used by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

This action comes after reports indicated that at least 32 people have been killed due to Israeli military strikes in the region, exacerbating the blockade of Jabalia hospitals located in the north of the enclave, Palestinian health officials have reported. The statement does not specify how many of the casualties were civilians and how many were Hamas militants. The Israeli Defense Forces announced that they have no information on the incident.

According to residents of the southern city of Khan Younis and images circulating online, the leaflet contains a message in Arabic stating, "Whoever lays down their arms and surrenders will be allowed to leave and live in peace." The text of the leaflet is derived from Netanyahu’s statement made on Thursday, following the killing of Sinwar by Israeli soldiers acting in Rafah, near the border with Egypt.

Residents and doctors have reported that Israeli forces have intensified the blockade of Jabalia, directing tanks towards nearby towns and issuing evacuation orders to residents. Israeli officials have stated that the evacuation orders are aimed at separating Hamas militants from the civilian population and denied the existence of any systematic plan to evacuate civilians from Jabalia or other northern areas.
