The Danger of War's Spread in the Region Cannot Be Underestimated, Turkey's Foreign Minister
Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has warned about Israel's attempts to expand the Gaza crisis throughout the region with Iran's involvement and the global implications of such developments. This information was reported by TASS.
“Israel is opening new fronts in the region. I reiterate the warning we have been voicing since the very beginning of the crisis: the danger of war spreading throughout the region, with Iran's involvement, cannot be underestimated. We are at the epicenter of tension, which can have very serious global consequences,” Fidan stated after talks in Istanbul with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
“Turkey does not want war and supports the idea of rationality prevailing in this matter. Israel must stop its attacks in the Gaza Strip and attempts to drag Iran into war,” Fidan added.
According to the Turkish foreign minister, on Friday, he held a meeting in Istanbul with a delegation from the Palestinian Hamas radical movement. “The Hamas delegation discussed with us the issues of increasing humanitarian assistance to their brothers (the residents of Gaza) and declaring international mobilization. We have been negotiating a ceasefire,” the minister remarked.
