Pashinyan to Agree on So-Called Middle Corridor with Erdogan
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: Today, October 18, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan is participating in the third meeting of the "3+3" regional consultative platform in Istanbul.
"3+3" is a regional cooperation format initiated by Turkey and supported by Russia, established after the 44-day war in Artsakh. It involves three South Caucasian countries—Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan—as well as three regional powers: Russia, Turkey, and Iran. Russia confirmed the participation of Sergey Lavrov, while Georgia announced another boycott, stating they would not attend any meetings due to conflicts with Russia.
Analysts predict that within the framework of a separate agreement with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Nikol Pashinyan may agree on what is referred to as the Middle Corridor, which is, to say the least, unacceptable for Russia. This is because the November 9 document mentions the unblocking of roads, but not solely the so-called Zangezur Corridor connecting Turkey and Azerbaijan.
This is confirmed by the statement of Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov following the meetings between Putin-Pashinyan and Putin-Aliyev on October 8 in Moscow, where it was mentioned that the issue of the "Zangezur Corridor" was discussed for half an hour.
Furthermore, Maria Zakharova edited her previous statements, clarifying that the term "Zangezur Corridor" is not utilized by Moscow.
