A 6.1 magnitude earthquake has been recorded in eastern Turkey. This information was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

According to their data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 47 km east of Malatya, a city with a population of 441,000. The focus of the quake was at a depth of 9 km.
